Hopes remain high for the release of iPad Air 3 despite the lack of information from Apple Inc.

Rumors claim that the third-generation iPad Air may be released sometime in March 2017. But other speculations suggest that there could still be a chance to see the ultrathin tablet come out before the end of the year.

University Herald speculates that since the Cupertino-based tech giant has a tradition of releasing their latest tablet lines in the month of October, it can be assumed that the same is true for the iPad Air 3. It could happen during the company's Earnings Report that is scheduled on Oct. 25.

While the tech giant has yet to confirm if the speculated unveiling of the iPad Air 3 will indeed happen this month, other reports claim that the device will come out with a thinner design compared to the iPad Air 2.

The current iPad Air 2 model is just 6.1mm thick. This could mean that the new device will at least be slightly thinner than that.

There are also reports claiming that the rumored iPad Air 3 will come out with the popular Rose Gold color aside from the usual Silver, Gold, and Space Grey varieties.

Other reports claim that the new iPad Air 3 device will be equipped with the A10 system on chip, which is currently attached to the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. This means the new version of the iPad Air will have a faster mobile system compared to its predecessors.

Several speculations also mention that the rumored iPad Air 3 will come out with a Smart Connector that can be used to link the device to a Smart keyboard. It will also have the Apple Pencil support upon release.

If the rumors are true, more details about the iPad Air 3 will be unveiled before the end of October.
