Apple Inc. rolled out the third beta of iOS 8.2 to developers last week, allowing them to try out the new software.
MacRumors reported that the third beta release for the latest iOS update, dubbed as Build 12D5452a, became available for all registered developers who signed up for the testing phase via an over-the-air update as well as through the iOS Developer Center.
One of the reported inclusions in the said update can be found in the Health app, wherein a blood glucose monitoring feature was added.
Initially, the Health app only has one way to determine blood glucose level, which is through the mg/dL (milligrams per deciliter) units. But since most countries use the mmol/L (millimoles per liter) as their measuring standard for blood glucose, Apple decided to include this as well.
In addition, the updated Health app will include descriptions for the users to easily understand the features and data visualizations found in their app.
The Cupertino-based tech giant further explained the new Health app inclusion, saying, "To prevent confusion in countries where mmol/L is commonly used, we'll soon release a software update that will temporarily remove the ability to manually enter and view blood glucose values in the Health app while we work on an update to support both units of measurement."
There are also reports saying that the third beta update of iOS 8.2 includes the Xcode 6.2 beta 3 with WatchKit intended for Apple Watch to let developers come up with new apps for the soon-to-be released Apple wearable device.
Other minor bugs will also be fixed with the release of iOS 8.2, including the one wherein several keyboards do not appear in third-party apps like the Apple Safari and Apple Maps. It will also take care of the reported lag time between the touchscreen taps when using Apple Messages.
The iOS 8.2 update is expected to be released to the public in the first quarter of 2015.
