Playdead's puzzle-platformer adventure game "Inside" is getting a Nintendo Switch and iOS port sometime in the future. Specific release dates and information on whether or not the port will contain new content or brand-new game features have yet to be announced, but according to Japanese publication Famitsu, versions for both the Nintendo Switch and iOS are already being developed.

Arnt Jensen, "Inside's" creative director, was on a tour of Japan where he had dinner with Fumito Ueda and Kojima Hideo, creators of "The Last Guardian" and "Metal Gear Solid," respectively. Over dinner, Jensen mentioned that "Inside's" Switch and Nintendo ports were already under development. Jensen tweeted about the dinner on Sept. 22, and Famitsu later reported the said dinner among the developers and "Inside's" upcoming game ports for Nintendo Switch and iOS.

"Inside" was developed and published by Playdead and first released in 2016 for the PlayStation 4 (PS4), the Xbox One, and PC.

In "Inside," players take control of a boy in a dystopian world of brainwashed humans and dangerous creatures. Players must traverse the bleak landscape, solving puzzles and fleeing from foes in order to keep the boy alive.

Despite its minimalistic style and mostly visual storytelling, "Inside" won a plethora of awards, including The British Academy Game Award for Game Design, The Game Award for Best Independent Game, The Game Award for Best Art Direction, The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Game Awards for Artistic Achievement, BAFTA Game Award for Narrative, and more. It was the runner up for 2016's Game of the Year, and it also received a rating of 10 on IGN.

Fans of the chilling and bleak "Inside" will enjoy the game that came before it.

Before "Inside" was released, Playdead released the side-scrolling puzzle-platformer "Limbo" in 2010. The game was released for Xbox Live Arcade but received ports for the PS3, PC, and iOS. Similar to "Inside," the game revolved around the adventures of a nameless child in a bleak world and players would solve puzzles and flee from giant spiders to keep the nameless boy alive and aid him in his quest to find his missing sister.
