The Indiana Pacers may acquire the expertise of Chicago Bulls point guard Aaron Brooks.

Reports claim that the Pacers and the veteran point guard are finalizing the deal for a one-year contract to join the team's final roster for the 2016-2017 NBA season.

With the average stats of 7.1 points and 2.6 assists on 40 percent shooting while staying with the Bulls, Brooks will further strengthen the point guard position of the team, which also includes Ty Lawson, Joseph Young, and Rodney Stuckey.

They will also be joined by former Atlanta Hawks point guard Jeff Teague, who was traded to the Pacers as part of the three-way trade, which included Utah Jazz early this month.

The 28-year-old was the Hawks' first-round pick in 2009. He managed to do an average of 12 points and 5 assists during his seventh season with the team. In a press statement posted on NBA's official website, Pacers president of basketball operations Larry Bird said: "With Jeff, we think he brings something we haven't had in a true point guard. We think he fits in with what we're trying to do. He has speed, the ability to create for others and he can score. We look forward to working with him."

Speculations about the team's new point guard roster say that Teague will most likely be included in the starting line-up for the Pacers, while Brooks will have to compete with Stuckey, Young and Lawson for the playing minutes off the bench.

Other new additions to the Pacers' roster include Iowa State University forward Georges Niang. He was the 50th overall draft pick from the team. He played with them during the summer league in Orlando, where he got an average of 10.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. According to Indiana coach Nate McMillan, Niang "just understands the game, has a great feel for the game, and he makes players better out on the court."
