"Hunter x Hunter" Chapter 361 will see the light of day, but fans will have to wait until early next year to see it. This is at least what the latest reports are saying.
Due to his chronic back pain that prevents him from writing and illustrating in long periods of time, writer and artist Yoshihiro Togashi chose to give "Hunter X Hunter" a break for a much-needed rehabilitation.
"The last time the series was put on hold, it was because of Togashi-sensei's lower back pain, and once again, his condition has gotten worse, necessitating a break again," publisher Shueisha told Rocket News 24. "At this time, it is not certain when we will be able to resume the series," it went on to say.
Togashi is yet to announce when he will return to release "Hunter x Hunter" Chapter 361, but rumor has it that Shueisha is hiring new writers to continue the plot.
Togashi will then serve as the consultant to make sure that the work of the new writers will be in line with what he has in mind for the "Hunter x Hunter" manga.
However, there are other reports claiming that Shueisha will let go of Togashi altogether and just work with the writers for "Hunter x Hunter" Chapter 361 and beyond.
This, of course, will be a bold creative move that might make or break the manga series, which Togashi singlehandedly put out since the beginning. It is also unclear if it will sit well with followers of the long-running manga.
Of course, fans are not new to hiatus. The "Hunter x Hunter" manga was once on a break back in April 2014 for the same reason, and it only returned to the scene exactly two years later.
It is unclear when "Hunter x Hunter" Chapter 361 will be out or if it will be Togashi's work or not. What's clear is that Togashi is still recuperating from his condition.
Whether or not it will take as long as the previous hiatus remains to be seen. However, rumors have it that February 2017 is the target date for "Hunter x Hunter" Chapter 361.
