Huawei Nexus 5 (2015) release rumors: New specs information leaked

More rumors point out that the next Nexus smartphone from Google, or one of them, will be made by Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Huawei.

According to earlier rumors, Google will launch two handsets this year. One of them would be made by LG, the South Korean manufacturer that was also tapped by the multinational tech company to manufacture the Nexus 4  (2012) and the Nexus 5 (2013). Huawei, on the other hand, was called on board to create the other Nexus phone that will be released soon.

Tech news tipster Evan Blass posted several leaked information about the Huawei Nexus device in his @evleaks Twitter account, including some of the possible specs and the device's expected release date.

According to the leaked details, the specs of the alleged Huawei Nexus "sounds impressive so far." It will reportedly come with a 5.7-inch QHD touchscreen display, a metal body casing, a fingerprint reader, as well as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Blass also said that the device will be sold in stores in the last quarter of the year.

The fingerprint reader will allegedly come in handy, especially if the rumored Apple Pay competitor called Android Pay will also be unveiled in the coming days. The leaker also confirmed that the Huawei-manufactured Nexus smartphone will feature a USB Type-C port which can be used for charging and connecting to other devices.

Blass has a good history of credible leaks in the past, which is why his latest post cannot be easily dismissed.

Previous reports also claimed that the Huawei Nexus device will come out with Google's upcoming Android M straight out of the box, since the tech giant normally displays their latest mobile operating system alongside a new smartphone during its release.

Aside from the Huawei Nexus, a smaller Nexus smartphone device is also reportedly being developed by LG. This one will allegedly comes with a 5.2-inch screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset processor, and a 2700 mAh battery.

Google and the mobile manufacturers have yet to confirm the validity of the reports.
