After being noticeably silent about the release of the HTC One M9 during the recently concluded Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain this month, HTC has finally revealed their planned release date for their flagship device in the U.S. During the Uh-Oh Protection launching event Wednesday, the Taiwanese mobile manufacturing firm announced that U.S. consumers can start purchasing the highly-anticipated One M9 device on April 10.

According to HTC Americas president Jason Mackenzie, the One M9 will be released in different time windows for different network carriers across the country, although he didn't name which companies will offer it and its actual price range. It will, however, be made available through different retail stores at the same time.

But aside from the release date, HTC also disclosed that their new Uh-Oh customer initiative program will provide protection not just for the soon-to-be released HTC One M9 device but for the earlier-released HTC One M8 flagship phone as well. Under the program, the mobile manufacturing company from Taiwan will replace any defective HTC One M9 units if it becomes unusable because of a cracked screen, carrier switch, or water damage within one year of purchase.

According to the company's website, "Phones are susceptible to a wide range of uh-ohs: drops, cracks, water damage. We get it. Accidents happen. So at HTC, we thought it was time someone had your back."

The mobile phone provider also promised to take $100 off in the user's next HTC One purchase if they never find a need for a replacement in the first 12 months of purchase of the device.

Meanwhile, HTC execs also clarified that they will not produce a Google Play Edition of the HTC One M9. This announcement was actually expected since mobile brands have not been creating Google Play Editions for their flagship devices for quite a while already.
