HTC One (M9) 'Hima' release date, features and specs rumors roundup

The HTC One M8 will allegedly be succeeded by a new flagship phone called the HTC Hima. HTC

HTC's next flagship phone after the HTC One M8 has not yet been revealed by the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer, but tipsters have already announced the release date and possible specs of the upcoming device in social media.

Based on the tweets posted online by China-based tipster @upleaks, the future flagship phone from HTC will be released in the first quarter of 2015. It will not be called the HTC One M9 as earlier expected, but the new line of flagship phones from the tech company will allegedly be dubbed as the HTC Hima.

The series of tweets about the soon-to-be released HTC Hima handset includes information about the reported specs of the product, which reads:

"HTC Hima:S810 2.0GHz*4+1.5GHz*4, 3GB RAM, 5" FHD, VoLTE/CA/LTE Cat.6, 20.7MP(front 13MP or UltraPixel 4MP), 2840mAh, Android 5.0/Sense 7.0:)"

Although @upleaks has been accurate in most of its leaked reports, the tech company from Taiwan still has to confirm or deny the information that was recently unveiled by this Twitter account.

Earlier reports about the next-generation HTC flagship phone, on the other hand, mentioned a different set of specs. According to an article posted on GSM Arena, the upcoming HTC One M9 will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset as well as a 3 GB RAM. It will also come with a 16-megapixel primary rear-end camera featuring optical image stabilization, a 5.5-inch QHD display screen, Bose-tech stereo speakers, as well as a powerful 3500 mAh battery. This set of specs is very different from @upleaks' report.

Meanwhile, Phone Arena mentioned that the U.S. release of HTC Hima will come with an Ultra variant, and it will be exclusively offered by Verizon and AT&T. A more affordable HTC Hima Ace was also discussed. However, there are no reports yet about what makes Hima, Hima Ultra and Hima Ace different from each other.

If the leaked reports turn out to be accurate, the public will finally see the new HTC Hima and its alleged HTC Hima Ultra and HTC Hima Ace variants by March 2015.
