HTC One A9 release date, specs rumors: mid-range smartphone coming in November?

It seems like the soon-to-be released HTC One A9 smartphone is not the flagship device that avid users of the products from the Taiwanese telecommunications company have been expecting, if the latest leaked details turn out to be true.

Consistent tipster Evan Blass posted new leaked information about the upcoming HTC One on his @evleaks Twitter account, stating when the new device will come out.

According to the tip, the device formerly known as the HTC Hima Aero will have a 5-inch FHD AMOLED screen display with 1080p resolution, and it will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset. The leaked detail also mentions that the device will also have 2 GB of RAM with 16 GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot for expansion, and a 7 mm-thin metal body that will come in six color options. It is also stated in the Twitter post that the device will have a 13 MP primary camera and an Ultra Pixel shooter in front, and it will be powered by a 2150 mAh battery.

Based on the said specs, the HTC One A9 could not be the flagship device expected from the Taiwanese telecom giant. It is a little far in terms of capability from the previously reported speculations claiming that it will have a a bigger 5.2-inch QHD screen, larger internal RAM that comes in at 4 GB, and a bigger 3500 mAh battery capacity. The earlier rumors also claimed that the device will be equipped with a powerful Mediatek 10-core Helio X20 chipset.

If the @evleaks tip is true, it would be hard for HTC to compete with the other leading smartphone brands like Apple, Motorola, Samsung, and Sony, all of which also previously released their latest flagship devices in the market. This will also come as a surprise for HTC fans and those who attended the past HTC investors' meeting where HTC CEO Cher Wang revealed that they will be releasing a new flagship device in the fourth quarter of the year.

But those who want to confirm if the latest leak is accurate should wait until the device comes out in November.
