Avid fans of the hit "How To Get Away with Murder" almost got a heart attack after Design and Trend reported Wednesday that lead star Viola Davis had already quit from the show because of creative differences with the writers.

Based on the original post, the executives from ABC allegedly confirmed that Davis already decided not to return to the second season of the hit Shonda Rhimes-created series.

The reports claim that the critically acclaimed actress who portrays the role of lawyer-professor Annalise Keating and the network separated amicably because she needs to sort out some family problems. But rumors claim that Davis was just not happy with the script and her castmates, which led her to leave the show.

The report from Design and Trend claimed that Daily Mail posted the real reason as to why Davis wants to quit from the hit legal drama series.

"Davis didn't feel that connected to the cast or the script," the sources of Daily Mail said. "After filming the first couple of episodes, she just wanted out."

Another source also said that "She knows that fans are already dedicated to the show and can't wait for season 2, but she couldn't go on. She wants to work on a show that actually makes her happy."

Fans of the show who first read the story were devastated, until they find out that it was not real, and the report is just a hoax, and was part of the site's April Fool's Day prank.

Viola will actually return to reprise her role as the fierce criminal lawyer and professor who took in five students to work in her firm as apprentices.

The first season of "How To Get Away with Murder" earned positive reviews for Davis' stellar performance in the lead role, as well as the compelling plot that kept viewers on the edge of their seats.

"How To Get Away with Murder" season 2 is expected to answer all the questions left during the cliffhanger finale, like who killed Rebecca (Katie Finlay) and Annalise's husband Sam (Tom Verica).
