Viola Davis' Emmy Award-winning character Annalise Keating is set to return to the small screen tonight for the thrilling "How to Get Away with Murder" season 2.

The sophomore season of Shondaland's mystery legal drama will begin with an explosive premiere episode that will answer the mind-boggling question left hanging in season 1: who killed Rebecca (Katie Findlay)? But before the episode titled "It's Time to Move On" airs Thursday night, ABC dropped two new sneak peeks that show more unexpected twists for the upcoming season.

In one of the new teasers, Annalise is scolding the so-called Keating Five in her home.

"What? You need a trophy to do your job? Then quit," the fierce criminal defense lawyer and professor at the Middleton University says. "You think you deserve to be here? That your job is safe? No. You're here because I let you be here, so do your work or get the hell out of my house."

Yet Annalise's fury toward her students-turned-employees suddenly fizzles when an unexpected guest arrives, and she seems to rattle the usually composed lawyer.

The guest is portrayed by "X-Men" star Famke Janssen, who casually walks into Annalise's house unannounced. She tells the Keating Five that she would probably do what the professor said. Then she faces Annalise and, after sensing that the lawyer is shocked to see her, the still-unnamed character says, "What? You still don't like surprises?"

Does this mean that Annalise has a history with the mysterious guest?

In the other sneak peek, Annalise and character Frank Delfino (Charlie Weber) are discussing the search history of Wes Gibbins' (Alfred Enoch) laptop. Frank informs Annalise that Wes seems to be looking for any lead regarding Rebecca's whereabouts, which could mean that he knows that Rebecca is already dead. But Annalise defends her student, saying that Wes is just probably looking for his missing girlfriend.

Then the two talk about Rebecca's killer, since the two hold each other in suspicion regarding her death. Annalise bluntly asks Frank if he killed Rebecca, but he denies it.

Then Annalise tells him, "I won't be mad that you did it, I'll just be mad that you're lying."

"How to Get Away With Murder" season 2 premieres tonight, 10 p.m. ET on ABC. Catch it via live stream on ABC.com
