Houston Rockets trade rumors 2016: trading done after Donatas Motiejunas' status is settled

According to the latest wave of Houston Rockets trade rumors, fans will likely no longer hear from the Texans club with regards to anything about offseason talks.

Rockets general manager Daryl Morey himself revealed to Houston Chronicle that the lineup they have now will likely be the same roster he will take to the training camp.

"I think it's a good chance," he said of keeping the Rockets roster the way it is now. "Nobody really is (active in trade talks). Even if we wanted to be, it wouldn't matter," he went on to say.

The NBA trades helped the Rockets rebuild as they went on a mission to find stars that will work well with James Harden on court as he and newly-inducted Atlanta Hawks member Dwight Howard did not gel with him.

Houston rectified this by adding both young and veteran players to the fold. With the inclusion of old hands Nene, Pablo Prigioni, Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon, the Rockets certainly fortified itself.

The team is currently working on sealing the deals with their trio of recruits – Gary Payton II, Isaiah Taylor and Kyle Wiltjer. Houston also decided against waiving Michael Beasley.

On the trading block is Donatas Motiejunas, who is yet to officially re-sign with the Rockets. The Lithuanian big man has become a restricted free agent, but has showed interest in moving out of Houston.

With Motiejunas' status as the team's focus and having done its business in the NBA trade, it is likely that the Rockets will no longer go after that Rudy Gay of Sacramento Kings.

However, ESPN says that the team could bump up its number to 20, and Gay, the small forward, who is one of the most sought after in the business, could fill one of the slots.

Yibada is also reporting that along with Gay, the Kings are also looking to sending Ben McLeMore to Houston as well.
