Will America see a Frank Underwood versus Claire Underwood showdown in the upcoming season of "House of Cards" season 4?
After Claire (Robin Wright) told Frank (Kevin Spacey) that she had enough and she will finally leave him during the season three finale, fans of the show were speculating about its implications on Frank's political career.
The series producers were keeping mum about the plot of the upcoming installment of the series, but fans believe that Claire's decision will have a big impact on Frank's presidency. Several viewers believe that Frank will do everything that he can to stop Claire from leaving, but it seems like Claire is really serious about abandoning her scheming husband. It is also possible that Claire will try to go against the President and join the opposition.
In a recent interview, lead actor Kevin Spacey said that the original show from the popular streaming service has the power to educate the audiences to the world of politics.
"I think it's really making them understand politics in ways that they, perhaps, never had before," the highly acclaimed actor said. But Spacey said that since the plot of the series is fictional, its main goal remains to be for entertainment, but would still try to stay true to the real facets of US politics.
The actor also added that the "choices that people make and the morals of it, I'll leave for others to judge, because I can't judge the characters I play - I just have to play them."
Meanwhile, executive producer Beau Willimon updated the fans of the show with several teasers, including a picture of a new van with a Stamper Electric Inc. logo, which allegedly belongs to Michael Kelly's character Doug Stamper. It simply implies that Doug is returning for season 4, after Rachel (Rachel Brosnahan) left him for dead during the final episode of season 2.
"House of Cards" season 4 is expected to be released in February or March 2016.
