"Halo Wars 2" will be playable at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 next month. Creative Assembly, the team in charge of the upcoming Xbox One and PC title, is "anxiously gearing up" for the conference, as per 343 Industries.

The developer also teased that apart from fans getting their hands on the "Halo Wars 2," there's something more to expect at E3 although 343 Industries "can't talk about more just yet."

It remains to be seen if this has something to do with the highly-anticipated "Halo Wars" sequel, but whatever it is, fans who are after the title will certainly be happy by the end of the company's E3 presentation.

"Halo Wars 2" is the sequel to the hit real-time strategy (RTS) video game developed by Ensemble Studios back in 2009. The game will boast "fast-paced action, massive battles, and an all-new Halo story."

Rumors have it that Microsoft and 343 will make a comparison of the new "Halo Wars" game to the first one on E3. Prior to the affair, the collaborators have been testing various aspects of the game to make sure it's of high quality.

Franchise creative director Frank O'Connor promised that "Halo Wars 2" will be at its best on the PC and on the Xbox One. On NeoGAF, he said that the game "was designed with Xbox AND PC in mind from scratch and makes the most of each platform's relative strengths."

He is also confident that Creative Assembly will be able to make a stellar RTS title out of "Halo Wars 2" since it is the game studio's forte.

"Halo Wars as a franchise has had some innovative and appropriate ways to make the game genre work on console. I think both audiences will be pleased and not feel compromised," he added.

"Halo Wars 2" will be released later this year.
