Microsoft is reportedly planning to release its finest titles on the PC, as opposed to exclusively making them available to the Xbox One. This is why there's a great chance that "Halo 6" will be out on both platforms.
According to Kotaku, the company is implementing a directive requiring its future game offerings including new "Halo" titles to be released on the said systems. They got this strategy started with "Fable Legends" and it is expected to continue with the "Halo 6."
If it's going to be this way from now on, "Halo 6" will be the first title to be available to the PC and Xbox One. This should be good news to PC players who were disappointed that only the Forge tools of "Halo 5: Guardians" are coming to PC and not the complete game.
Microsoft is not releasing its latest "Halo" title to the PC and has no plans to do so in the future. It is, however, opting to make the Forge mode of the game available for free in Windows 10 and is looking to release a sequel to "Halo Wars" in the said platform.
"As we've stated previously, we have no plans to release Halo 5: Guardians on Windows 10. We are focused on building Halo Wars 2 for Windows 10 and Xbox One," the official statement from Microsoft and 343 Industries reads.
It will be a win-win situation for everybody for "Halo 6" to make its way to the PC as well. For Microsoft, the tech firm will be able expand its community of "Halo" patrons.
As for gamers, those who have been hoping to play the first-person shooter series on PC will finally get a taste of the "Halo" experience they have been clamoring for. It will also give Microsoft a leeway for cross-platform play between Xbox One and PC.
As for the release date of "Halo 6," fans may have to wait two to four years before the game comes out.
Since "Halo 5: Guardians" was released just last year and it takes an average of three years for a new one to turn up (based on Microsoft's release history), fans are looking at a possible 2018 launch.
