For its final beta week, 343 Industries added a slew of new contents for the "Halo 5: Guardians" multiplayer game on Xbox One, including a brand new weapon and a set of returning ones, game mode, as well as a new map.

Reports from Xbox Wire stated that the game developer has launched the new Strongholds mode that can be played on Empire and Regret, along with its new Pegasus map that fans voted to be included in the beta, built using the early version of the customization tools dubbed as Forge. The Stronghold game mode is a new addition to the first two modes featured in the game, including Slayer and Breakout.

The new map reportedly features long distances which is ideal when using the DMR as well as the new Sniper Rifle. The new weapon, which is the Rocket Launcher, is said to be a highly dangerous one that has the capacity to destroy multiple enemies with just one shot.

The game developer released a description for the new additions in the beta phase. According to the team from 343 Industries, "Holding down the raised area with the Sniper Rifle, Rocket Launcher, or Light Rifle gives a team excellent presence, and the ability to lock down huge swathes of the map. However, this spot is vulnerable to grenades and flanking routes that the opposing team should use to retake the high ground."

The beta phase for "Halo 5: Guardians" will run until Jan. 18, which means that players have limited time left to enjoy testing out the game.

On the other hand, Microsoft recently announced that the soon-to-be released installment of the "Halo" series will have two special editions called "Halo 5 Limited Edition" and "Halo 5 Limited Collector's Edition."
