"Creed" star Sylvester Stallone is reportedly appearing in the much-awaited Marvel sequel "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." New York Daily News spotted the Oscar-nominated actor holding a script as he made his way out of a hotel in Atlanta where the cast of the film stays.

He then got on board the car that the aforementioned publication says is typically used the by Chris Pratt, who plays protagonist Peter Quill in the film. It is believed Stallone was on his way to Pinewood Studio in Georgia to film.

At the moment, there's no confirmation regarding Stallone's possible appearance in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." However, there are already rumors that he might actually play an important role in the highly anticipated sequel.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is set to focus on Peter Quill aka Star-Lord's journey to learn about his father's identity. In this film, he and the fans will finally learn who the character's father is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Stallone might be whom director James Gunn recruited for the role.

But then again, more rumors run rampant about the identity of Daddy Quill. When Gunn first announced that Kurt Russell is part of the bigger ensemble in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" follow-up, fans surmised that he will essay the mysterious role.

If "The Hateful Eight" actor indeed has that covered, it is likely that Stallone is on board for a cameo role only. Unfortunately, there's no way of knowing for sure at this time. It was only last month that principal photography for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" commenced.

Gunn has expressed many times that he is changing things up in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." This means that he won't be following the comics when it comes to Peter's parentage. That being said, J'son of Spartax, who is known to be Star-Lord's dad in the comics, won't be his father on the big screen.

If Stallone is indeed one of the cast members of the film, he joins Tommy Flanagan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and Chris Sullivan, who are all newcomers to the franchise.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will be out May 5, 2017.
