Guardians of the Galaxy 2 rumors: Howard the Duck to appear in next film?

Howard the Duck may be considered the most memorable cameo in the recently released block-buster hit "Guardians of the Galaxy." However, toward the end of the movie, another important sighting went almost unnoticed even though director James Gunn guaranteed fans that it is a very significant sighting.

The cameo was featured in Guardians during the final credits  when Howard the Duck was speaking; the cocoon was opened and nobody was inside. During the ending credits for "Thor: The Dark World"  when the museum of The Collector was shown, a cocoon was seen.

Gunn revealed that the person's identity who is inside the cocoon was Adam Warlock.

In the Marvel comics, Adam Warlock is the character made to be the perfect human species during a scientific installation dubbed "The Beehive." The character is also a vital part of the Infinity Gem story which is said to be included in "Avengers 3" together with Thanos.

In one of Empire's podcast interviews Gunn said that "many people may look up to the right of The Collector as we first see him, and you will see a certain duck named Howard that turns to look at the group. That's one of my favorite little things in the background."

He continued, "There are the slither creatures from my movie Slither behind The Collector, those guys are pretty obvious. You have Adam Warlock's cocoon, you have all sorts of other characters from Marvel movies."

Gunn did not provide more details about Warlock, and there is a possibility that the perfect human could be appearing in "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" before meeting the Avengers in the third installment of the franchise.

"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" is scheduled to be released on the big screen July 28, 2017.
