'GTA 6' release date rumors fixed to 2018; game tipped to feature larger map and terrorists

Rockstar isn't ready to let go of "GTA 5" just yet, which leads to the rumored delay of "GTA 6." Rockstar

Reports about developer Rockstar being excessively fixed on the money-maker of a game that is "GTA 5" are starting to strike fear on fans that "GTA 6" may arrive later than it is expected to be.

Rockstar hasn't slowed down on updates, DLC packs and double reward events for the current "GTA" flagship, prompting media outlets to believe that the developer isn't ready to stop milking the game.

This allegedly pushes the "GTA" maker to focus more on upgrading "GTA 5" and "GTA Online" rather than making a brand new sequel like the rumored "GTA 6" altogether.

It is speculated that until "GTA 5" loses its luster and commercial appeal, Rockstar won't turn its attention on "GTA 6." This, rumors say, might take a long while to transpire.

However, reports contrary to this started to come into view recently, claiming that Rockstar knows that "GTA 6" will be a goldmine, possibly an even bigger success than "GTA 5."

The reports attempt to extinguish the worries of fans that "GTA 6" will take long to get here. The word now is that the game should be available as early as 2018 and no later than 2020.

There are even claims that Rockstar has gone so far in the development as to develop some of the characters to be featured in the next-gen game.

According to rumors, notorious al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden will somehow be represented in "GTA 6," hinting that the terrorism will be a central theme in the open world action-adventure video game.

Earlier speculations suggest that the protagonist of the next "GTA" iteration will be female with Eva Mendes expected to essay the role. The game is also billed to boast a map bigger than all maps in the previous games combined.

Lastly, it is being said that "GTA 6" will be released for the so-called PS5 and the Xbox Two, which should add more months or years to the time it will take to complete it.
