"Grand Theft Auto V" ("GTA 5") has been a huge success since its release back in 2013 with constant updates and even mods being made for the game. Fans may now be wondering about the potential "GTA 6." While it definitely would not be out soon, rumors are saying that it will be out in 2022 and will feature the series' first female protagonist.

With "Red Dead Redemption 2" still scheduled to be out in the later this year, Rockstar Games is sure to be busy with prioritizing the game. However, that does not mean that the company has not started on "GTA 6" at least in the planning mode. Rumors have been circulating about details on it.

According to The Know, the game will most likely be out around four years from now, in 2022. Since for the past games of the franchise, the protagonist has always been male, the developers are said to have decided to make the lead character a female this time around. This makes perfect sense especially with society's issues today on gender equality,

One of the main questions that fans would ask about a new "GTA" game would be where it would be located. According to the rumor, it would be back to the first "GTA" game that many have come to know on the PC, "Vice City." It will also spread down south to South America for some missions.

Some are thinking or at least suggesting that it may also have multiple protagonists and not just the planned female lead. This would then be quite similar to the current "GTA 5" but no news of it has been surfaced on the internet.

Note that all of these are just big rumors for a game that is to come in the next four years. A lot can happen in a year, let alone four so take the rumor with a grain of salt. If it does turn out this way, the female lead would surely seem very interesting.
