'GTA 5' Heist DLC release date: Will fans finally get the DLC Sept. 30?

The gaming world is rife with rumors about the possibility of a connection between the scheduled maintenance of Rockstar on Sept. 29 and the alleged release of Heist DLC on Sept. 30.

According to YouTube user and constant GTA update source DomisLive, the server maintenance could be Rockstar's way of preparing for the DLC reveal.

Rockstar Games released a press statement for the upcoming maintenance recently, saying:

"We will be performing brief GTA Online maintenance on September 29, 2014 between 9:00am to 10:00am ET. Grand Theft Auto Online and Rockstar Cloud Services will be temporarily unavailable on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 during some of this period.

Leaderboards both in-game and on the Social Club website may be temporarily paused or unavailable. Submissions to leaderboards will catch up and be posted after the maintenance is finished, so no data will be lost.

Apologies in advance for any inconvenience."

Fans of GTA are growing impatient at the constant delays of the online multiplayer mode that Rockstar had promised for quite a while. They even expect that the new Heist DLC will be released during the first anniversary of "Grand Theft Auto V" last Sept. 17. However, the fans waited in vain, as the developers did not unveil anything during that day.

Over the past months, Rockstar has been consistent in releasing DLC updates. It includes the "I'm Not a Hipster Update" back in June, July's "Independence Day," as well as the "Flight School" back in August.

However, the updates did not come in September. The developers are blaming this on all the reckless modders.

Still, the alleged Sept. 30 release of the highly anticipated Heist DLC is not a guarantee. The developers are still mum about it, and no one released an official statement about it yet. Everything is pure speculations at this point.

GTA fans would have to wait until further updates about the Heist DLC from Rockstar.
