'Grimm' season 7 news: NBC, Netflix still haven't confirmed renewal despite petitions

The future remains dim for "Grimm" fans as their petition for the extension of the series remains unnoticed.

NBC announced in August that the supernatural police procedural drama will end after its upcoming season 6. But fans tried to persuade the network to reconsider their decision by launching an online petition. Some fans, on the other hand, appealed to other networks, as well as the online entertainment streaming service provider Netflix, to pick up the show after the end of season 6.

But after almost reaching enough signatures for the online petitions, both NBC and Netflix have yet to make a statement regarding the fate of "Grimm" for season 7. This could mean that the series will likely meet its end after the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, the sixth season of "Grimm" had been reduced to 13 episodes instead of the usual 22-episode order. But it does not mean that the conflicts in the show will also be reduced.

According to a report from Movie Pilot, the series still needs to address several conflicts before it airs its final episode in 2017. One of them involves the complicated love triangle between Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli), his former lover, Juliette Silverton (Bitsie Tulloch), and the mother of his child, Adalind Schade (Claire Coffee).

In season 5, Juliette resurfaced after she was believed to be dead. But instead of the naïve veterinarian turned dangerous hexenbeist, the character's memories were erased by Hadrian's Wall to control her powers. On the other hand, Nick started having an emotional connection with Adalind after the birth of their son.

But Adalind's firstborn daughter, Diana (Hannah R. Loyd), used her unique powers to bring her mother back to Sean Renard's (Sasha Roiz) house. On the other hand, Eve began to recall a little about her past at the end of season 5. These events could possibly affect Nick's feelings for both women in the upcoming season.

"Grimm" season 6 is scheduled to return to NBC on Friday, Jan. 6, 2017.
