A new clip reveals why Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) was attacked in the midseason premiere of "Grey's Anatomy" season 12.

The clip shows Grey's colleagues working hard to save her life after she was unexpectedly attacked by of one of the patients at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

While checking on her vital signs, Dr. Ben Warren (Jason George) reveals that Mer's attacker was stable before he went into a possible hyper-aggression mode after a seizure. This could possibly explain why he suddenly went berserk and became violent. Dr. Richard Webber (James Pickens, Jr.), one of the attending physicians who are treating Grey after the attack, says the patient could be in a fugue state and will not be able to recall his actions during the attack.

In a recent interview with E! News, George revealed that fans need to watch the upcoming episode from start to finish.

"I will say you are strong enough to get through this, we will all get through this," he said regarding the Denzel Washington-helmed episode during his guest appearance at the fourth annual aTVfest at the Savannah College of Art and Design during the weekend. "It's an intense hour of television. It's a great hour of television you are not going to want to miss. And at the end of the day, as 'Grey's' often does, Shonda Rhimes takes you further in the drama than you think you can go because she buys it with pathos."

Meanwhile, "Grey's Anatomy" season 12, episode 11, titled "Unbreak My Hear," will shed light on the relationship between April Kepner (Sarah Drew) and Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams).

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, the episode will finally provide the answers regarding the status of the couple's relationship after their marriage went through a rough patch when April decided to join the Army medic team after losing their baby. Jackson seemed to be implying that he wants a divorce during the midseason finale, but he never managed to blurt it out/

Drew previously said that the answers will be given in episode 11.

"You get little snippets in 9 and 10, but 11 is a big one. It was so much fun to shoot, an epic journey and every actor's dream basically. It's one of those special episodes," the actress said.

"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 returns on ABC on Thursday, Feb. 11.
