The mid-season finale for "Grey's Anatomy" season 11 is almost here, and fans should expect more gut-wrenching scenes from the longest running medical drama on ABC.

The network released the official synopsis of "Grey's Anatomy" season 11 episode 8 titled "Risk," which reads:

"Maggie and Meredith disagree with Derek about the best way to approach a patient's case, which leads to a bigger argument between the couple. Meanwhile, Callie feels responsible when one of her veterans is pushed too far and one doctor's routine procedure results in a devastating diagnosis, on the winter finale of 'Grey's Anatomy.'"

It means that Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) will have professional and personal disagreements.  Meredith and her long-lost sister Maggie (Kelly McCreary) do not agree with Derek's medical opinion regarding an important case at the Grey Sloan Hospital, and neither does he agree with theirs. This will take a toll in the couple's constantly dwindling relationship, and a major fight is looming right around the corner.

Meanwhile, the teaser video for the upcoming episode shows that April (Sarah Drew) is having a pre-natal sonogram with the help of Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton), her husband's former lover. Stephanie accidentally spills the details about the baby's gender, yet she also finds unsettling information about April and Jackson's (Jesse Williams) baby.

They might be getting the help of Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) and her mentor Dr. Nicole Herman (Geena Davis) to perform a surgical procedure to help the child inside April's womb.

Stephanie is heard saying, "I need you to look at this. I think there's something wrong with Jackson and April's baby. I haven't told her. I haven't told Jackson. I have no idea what to do. Maybe we're wrong."

Arizona simply replies, "I hope so."

Elsewhere, Callie (Sara Ramirez) realizes that she might be the one to blame for pushing one of the hospital's veteran patients too far by forcing her to walk. Her career might be compromised because of her predicament.

The "Grey's Anatomy" season 11 winter finale will air on Thursday, Nov. 20.
