Rockstar Games has yet to confirm the development of the next "Grand Theft Auto" ("GTA") installment. Regardless of that, the rumors are rife that "Grand Theft Auto VI" is actually underway, with the game studio looking for ways to keep the players' interest in the franchise. For one, Rockstar is said to be exploring the possibility of bringing the fans back to Miami in "GTA VI," as well as a first time for the players to venture out of the U.S. soil and explore South America.

According to an insider report, "Grand Theft Auto VI" could feature more than one location, namely Miami and South America. This information was brought by a video show The Know from the Rooster Teeth network, claiming that its anonymous source has knowledge regarding the "GTA VI" development, Furthermore, The Know's source states that the next sequel will be out sometime in 2021 or 2022.

It was tipped that "Grand Theft Auto VI" is being seriously kept under wraps within Rockstar Studios that the people tasked to work on the game can only refer to the project as "Project Americas." It also appears that Rockstar wants to revisit Miami City by re-introducing Vice City. The satirical version of Miami was already featured in the 2004 title "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City," but in "GTA VI," there could be some major changes, including a time period outside the 80's.

Interestingly, the source claims that "Project Americas" will also allow players to travel from Miami to South America. It is not specified which exact city in South America will be included in the game.

Lastly, the possibility of featuring the first female protagonist in the "GTA" series was once again brought up. Although, it is not clear if Rockstar is completely sold on the idea of having a solo female lead in "Grand Theft Auto VI," or there will be a group of protagonists instead. In spite of the insider source's scoop, the public is advised to take this with a grain of salt as many things could still change after several years of waiting.

Aside from the rumored "Grand Theft Auto VI," the fans are also waiting for Rockstar's wild west-themed game sequel, "Red Dead Redemption 2," which is expected to drop this October.
