The premiere episode of "Gotham" season 3 is just right around the corner, but FOX continues to treat fans with a series of teasers and a brand new trailer to keep them excited about what they should look forward to in the upcoming season.

One of the teasers showed the first meeting between Jim Gordon (Ben MacKenzie) and the Gotham Gazette reporter named Valerie Vale (Jamie Chung). The former Gotham City PD homicide detective seemed to be uninterested in their conversation at first, but he instantly perked up upon hearing that Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) is willing to hand out $1 million as a reward to anyone who could point the location of Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett-Smith).

On the other hand, another clip showed the return of Fish Mooney in Gotham after being resurrected by Dr. Strange (BD Wong) at the secret Indian Hill facility. In the teaser, the former nightclub owner seemed to be determined to cause more havoc in the city.

Meanwhile, on Instagram, actor Cameron Monaghan teased the return of his character, Jerome Valeska.

The image-less post only featured a white background, but Jerome's distinctive laughter can be heard after clicking on the play button of the video.

Jerome's return means that The Joker will soon make his way to Gotham, and this was first hinted by showrunner John Stephen during the Television Critics Association press tour last August, as reported by TVLine.

According to Stephen, "The cult of the Joker, which we started at the beginning of [Season 2]," that was seen during Jerome's reported death, "is going to extend and deepen and change a little bit this year, where you have these sort of underground movements that have started to talk about Jerome and what he represented."

Other villains will also be introduced in "Gotham" season 3, including the Mad Hatter (Benedict Samuel,) the Court of Owls, and Solomon Grundy.

FOX will release the premiere episode of "Gotham" season 3 on Monday, Sept. 19.
