Aside from the highly anticipated unveiling of Google's latest Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, tech watchers are also expecting to see the announcement of the highly anticipated Google Nexus 7 2016 in early October.

Reports claimed that the new Google tablet will make an appearance during the smartphone launch on Oct. 4. But just like the upcoming Google smartphones, the 2016 version of the 7-inch tablet could be rebranded as the Pixel 7.

Details about the next Google tablet remains scarce, but speculations claimed that the upcoming device will feature a 7-inch AMOLED display screen with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution. Under the hood, the rumored device is also expected to be equipped with a Snapdragon 820 processor or the NVIDIA Tegra X1 as well as an Adreno 530 GPU. It may also have a 64 GB built-in storage capacity, with a 4-GB RAM, with an option to expand the storage capacity to 2 TB using a microSD card and run using the upcoming Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. The device is also rumored to feature a 13-megapixel primary camera.

The new Nexus 7 is reportedly manufactured by Huawei, but PC Advisor reported that the PR of the Chinese telecommunication device manufacturer opted not to confirm if they are the ones that Google tapped to create their new tablet product.

"We don't comment on future products, as a matter of policy. Huawei is committed to creating the world's most compelling and innovative devices, offering an exceptional performance and outstanding user experience," the Huawei PR said in a statement.

While Google has yet to confirm if the Nexus 7 will be included in the Oct. 4 event, prolific gadget tipster Evan Blass revealed via Twitter that the 7-inch tablet is currently at the manufacturing stage and will be shipped to the market before the end of the year.

If Blass' report turns out to be true, then it could mean that the speculated unveiling with the Google Pixel and Pixel XL might also be possible.
