An enduring plot point in "Girl Meets World" will finally be tied in a pretty bow come "Girl Meets World" season 3. Michael Jacobs, creator of the hit Disney Channel series, has revealed details on what to expect in the new season.

By the end of "Girl Meets Legacy," one thing remained unanswered – Lucas is still unable to pick between best friends Maya and Riley, who seem to be as confused about their feelings as Lucas is.

During an interview with The Wrap, Jacobs promised that the love triangle will finally get its resolution in "Girl Meets World" season 3. He said that it will (subtly) take up the first half of the season, which means that fans will get an answer really soon.

"We will resolve it in a way that shows an answer to a much bigger question, which is, how do young people at this age perceive relationships? What is the value of them? And what are our friendships, really?" Jacobs said.

"If the audience perceives that what we're talking about is 14-year-olds in love, they have missed what we're doing entirely. All of this will explain itself as part of the season," the "Girl Meets World" creator went on to say.

"Girl Meets World" season 3 sees Riley and her friends roaming (or fumbling) around the high school hallways. Jacobs says that in this season, there will be "bigger shift" in tone and theme.

The season will premiere with a two-part special that chronicles Riley and company's move to high school, which he said will "not be an easy adjustment" for them. The group of friends is bound to encounter "complications" in "Girl Meets World" season 3.

Fans of Uriah Shelton, who plays Josh in the series, are also in for a treat. The young actor, who was absent in several "Girl Meets World" season 2 episodes after sustaining injuries in an accident, will return in "Girl Meets World" season 3 with his role more important than ever.

"Girl Meets World" season 3 will also tackle "heavier subjects" in line with the high school theme, but in exploring these topics, the show will take into consideration its young demographic and will keep it as "honest" as possible.

"Girl Meets World" season 3 premieres in spring 2016.
