'Girl Meets World' season 3 cancelled rumors: More episodes still planned for 2017 airing

Will "Girl Meets World" season 3 be the show's last? Disney Channel

There is a rumor going around that "Girl Meets World" won't continue after season 3. The speculations started with the cryptic tweets sent out by stars Rowan Blanchard and Uriah Shelton.

Blanchard, who plays Riley in the series, posted a screenshot of a long post that suggested that the cast of the series are parting ways.

"I know as much as you guys do. Filming tonight's episode was very emotional for all of us, so thank you to all of you who came and stuck with us. The family that we have created on our set is something I will truly never forget," she stated.

When asked by a fan if "Girl Meets World" has been cancelled, Blanchard replied, "We finished filming season 3, haven't heard anything yet."

Shelton's post on Instagram also elicited worries from fans about the show's fate. He posted a photo of the cast of "Girl Meets World" and its parent series "Boy Meets World" and had this as caption.

"Thanks guys. I'm going to miss you. It makes me incredibly proud to have been a part of something so special to so many people."

While many think that Shelton's post meant that he will be leaving the show, Blanchard's post had many worrying that "Girl Meets World" season 3 will be the show's last.

Before these cryptic tweets, fans had no reason to worry because they expected the show to last for four seasons, just like the other shows on Disney Channel.

TV Line managed to get a statement from the representative of the network and revealed where "Girl Meets World" stands at the moment on the network.

"We are wrapping production next week on the third season," the representative said. "With episodes airing on Disney Channel into 2017, there's no news to share yet about a fourth season," the rep added.

"Girl Meets World" season 3 is currently on episode 10, "Girl Meets I Do," which airs Friday, Aug. 12 on Disney Channel.
