In the next episode of "Girl Meets World" season 2 titled "Girl Meets the Bay Window," fans will get to see how Riley and Maya's friendship started and how it could possibly end. The bay window has something to do with both instances.
It is not called "sacred" for nothing. The bay window is simply the mark and the starting place of their entire friendship. The significance of the spot traces back to their childhood, which will be heavily shown in the upcoming "Girl Meets World" episode.
Being the penultimate episode of "Girl Meets World" season 2, this upcoming installment will celebrate the characters' enduring friendship. The writers behind the show call it "a love letter to our characters and to you" and are hoping viewers will enjoy it as much as they enjoyed making it.
The story of the episode sees Riley redecorating the bay window, which upsets Maya, who thinks that her best friend will only ruin their sacred space. "Stop being ridiculous," Maya tells Riley in the "Girl Meets World" sneak peek.
It does not look like Maya's disapproval will change her best friend's mind. In fact, she will be convincing her that this could be the best measure for their friendship. The BFFs will be recounting memories when they were kids.
"Don't you think someday, we'll have to grow up?" a young Maya asks Riley in a flashback. "How will we know when that is?" her best friend responded. It seems that present Riley already found the answer to that. "It's now," she said.
From how it was shown in the "Girl Meets World" season 2 episode 29 promo, Riley and Maya made a pact when they were little girls that the bay window is to be as pure as it was when they first became friends — that is, until they grow up.
Riley and Maya have gone through a lot. For multiple times, their friendship was tested and these challenges seem to have made them stronger, helped them gain experience and lessons and fortify their friendship.
"Girl Meets World" season 2 episode 29 should be the perfect installment in preparing both characters and fans into the show advancing to high school. "Girl Meets Bay Window" airs Friday, Feb. 19 at 8:30 p.m. ET on Disney Channel.
