'Game of Thrones' season 8 spoilers: Iain Glenn on finale and Jorah's role - 'expect the unexpected'

"Game of Thrones" season 8 is still a long way off but the cast has so far promised that it will be worth the wait. Not only will the final run be bigger than ever, series actor Iain Glenn just teased it will be full of twists and turns as well.

Glenn, who plays then-exiled Northern Lord now-Targaryen loyalist Ser Jorah Mormont, recently stopped off for an interview with India Today to share what fans can expect from the final season of the HBO hit. Just like the rest of the cast, he could not give away specifics but did advice fans to "Always expect the unexpected." As he explained: "That is what works for the show, and season eight has loads of surprises."

What that entails to everyone's favorite characters remains to be seen; but as far as Jorah Mormont is concerned, it looks like his character will be playing things a little safer in season 8. Glenn reveals he will be sticking close to home this time, becoming more of a key advisor to his unrequited love, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).

"In the next and last season, Ser Jorah will happily become a permanent fixture in Daenerys Targaryen's inner circle, as the battle between good and evil draws to a spectacular finale," the actor said.

"Game of Thrones" season 8 is currently in the middle of production. As fans are aware, the finale will only have six episodes but Glenn says that should not be taken lightly. Calling the series "the biggest TV show ever," he explained that the filming is taking so long because of complicated sequences. So while there are fewer episodes, the shoot still takes roughly the same amount of time its 10-episode seasons took on average before.

Indeed, leaks from its Belfast set suggest production is stepping up this year. The latest one teased a massive battle in Winterfell with what appears to be corpses lying on the castle's surrounding field.

Unfortunately, fans will not be able to see a closer look at the scene until the show premieres. At this point, "Game of Thrones" season 8 has no exact return date yet but it would be back in HBO sometime in 2019.
