As the final season of the hit HBO series "Game of Thrones" nears it release date, several rumors and speculations have already began spreading in the news lately. Since the award-winning show is about to reveal its conclusion, some fans are already betting on the last characters who will remain alive toward the end of the show. According to some rumors, only Jon Snow, Cersei and Jamie Lannister will make it to the end of the battle for the iron throne.

According to a Twitter user who posted last Feb. 5, Jon Snow actor Kit Harington was spotted in Dubrovnik, Croatia, Express reported. The fan revealed that he was able to spot Harington while he was driving around the shooting location. Unfortunately, the account was deleted a few days after the claim.

With the information at hand, Express has speculated that Jon Snow being seen filming in Croatia poses a plot rumor that he could be one of the last characters standing who could be seated in the iron throne. Alongside Jon could be Cersei and Jaime Lannister who are both known to be filming in Croatia as well.

Meanwhile, several photos which have been posted recently suggests Jon reuniting with a key character in the series. According to the photos released by Digital Spy, Jon will be reuniting with his best friend, Samwell Tarly. It can be remembered that the duo was again separated last season when Jon accompanied Daenerys to face Cersei at King's Landing. Jon and Sam have been separated in many situations in the series but were still reunited on many occasions.

Aside from the reunion happening in the final season, the report pointed out a plot twist which Jon and Sam could be a part of. Jon and Sam will be travelling together to King's Landing to accomplish a still unknown mission. Since there are still little details regarding the season finale's plot, the motive behind Sam and Jon's mission at King's Landing is still unknown.

"Game of Thrones" is set to return for its eighth and final season in 2019 on HBO.
