Sansa is known as the meek, defenseless Stark daughter, but things will change for Sophie Turner's character when "Game of Thrones" returns on HBO for season 6.

The British actress talked to Entertainment Weekly to discuss what Sansa will be up to next season, especially after enduring a lot of hardships since she was betrothed to the late King Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) until she was forced to marry the evil Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon).

"This is the season I'm most excited for," Turner said. "Sansa's coming into her own and standing up for herself."

Writer-producer Bryan Cogman also stated in the same report that fans will enjoy watching Sansa's transformation this season. "I'm very excited by where Sansa's storyline is going this season, and I think Sophie is doing the best work she's ever done in season 6," Cogman said.

But it seems that Sansa will get some Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen), the same person who betrayed her family.

Sansa and Theon reunited when Sansa was brought by Petyr Baelish (Aidan Gillen) to House Bolton to marry Ramsay. Both of them were tortured by the evil, sadistic illegitimate son of Roose Bolton (Michael McElhatton). This could prompt them to leave their oppressor together.

Allen shared a few spoilers with News X, saying that his character will lead the way for his and Sansa's freedom.

"At the beginning of (season) six, you find him running through snowy, freezing forests leading the way with Sansa. They've just jumped off the wall of Winterfell and now they're on the run from Ramsay," the actor shared.

He also mentioned that he tried to make Sansa jump into a river, saying that the promo image showing that particular scene was misunderstood. "It looks like she's trying to get me out of the river, when I'm actually trying to be the strong one and get her in the river. Makes me look weak," Allen said.

Will Sansa and Theon successfully escape Ramsay's wrath when "Game of Thrones" season 6 premieres on HBO on Sunday, April 24?
