Details about "Game of Thrones" season 6 continue to trickle in, prior to the premiere of the new season on HBO tomorrow, April 24 with an episode titled "The Red Woman."
"Game of Thrones" writer and producer Bryan Cogman says that while season 5 was inarguably the show's darkest so far, the upcoming season is "still very dark, very intense, but it's very much a next act."
A batch of photos from "Game of Thrones" season 6 was recently released by HBO, giving a glimpse of what's to come. Some of the images show Theon and Sansa treading the waters in a bid to escape Winterfell and the Bolton hounds to get away from the monstrous Ramsay Bolton.
Speaking of the ruthless maniac, Ramsay does not like such one bit as he sits by the deathbed of his love Myranda, whose demise is Theon running away for. Another griever this season is Cersei herself, who is in mourning in "Game of Thrones" season 6 after losing her daughter Myrcella.
There's also a new Khal hanging out with Dany – Khal Moro. Not much is known about the guy, although in the "Game of Thrones" season 6 photos, he looked at her from head to toe with pure revulsion.
Bran Stark is also seen standing next to his new mentor, the Three-Eyed Raven. While in the photos and previews, it seemed like he can already walk again, "Game of Thrones" season 6 will show otherwise. What fans can expect though is that Bran will be all grown up in the new season and will learn how to tap into his abilities more effectively.
A blind Arya Stark was also seen in the "Game of Thrones" season 6 photos. She is expected to go undercover for The Faceless Men this season and along the way, she may associate herself with a theater troupe.
Lastly, there's the biggest "Game of Thrones" season 6 mystery – Jon Snow's fate. He wasn't featured in the set of photos, which hints that HBO is leaving it to the premiere to unveil what really happened to him. While Kit Harington has maintained his scenes in the new season show him as nothing but a corpse, evidence say otherwise.
"Game of Thrones" season 6, episode 1 is titled "Red Woman," which fans believe refers to Melisandre, the priestess believed to bring Jon Snow back to life with sorcery.
"Game of Thrones" season 6 premieres tomorrow on HBO at 9pm ET. UK fans can watch it on Sky Atlantic at 2am.
