'Game of Thrones' season 5 spoilers: HBO reveals first footage

Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) disguises himself in the new teaser of HBO's Game of Thrones Season 5 HBO

"Game of Thrones" fans finally got a quick peek at their beloved characters for the show's much awaited fifth season during the year-ender video trailer showcasing HBO's best shows and its roster of new offerings for 2015.

One of the best features of the video is the series of snippets showing some of the major characters from the TV adaptation of George R.R Martin's bestselling series of novels, "A Song of Ice and Fire."

One of the clip shows a not-so-happy Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) walking with palace guards by her side. She seems to be disappointed in the clip, which is speculated to stem from her younger brother's escape from prison. She may also be angry at the fact that her father died within the palace grounds.

Then there's a scene showing Castle Black featuring Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and the boy named Olly (Brenock O'Connor). He is the same boy who witnessed the brutal killing of his family in the hands of the Wildlings, and the same one who killed Ygritte (Rose Leslie). The question is, why is Jon Snow hanging out with the boy who killed his love?

In the third brief scene, Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) is seen looking filthy after escaping King's Landing. In the past season, Tyrion killed his father Lord Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance) and his former lover Shae (Sibel Kekilli). He is obviously trying to disguise himself by sporting a full beard to escape his captors.

Then Arya (Maisie Williams) is shown next, looking like she just arrived in Braavos. Her old sword called Needle is also seen with her in the clip.

The "Game of Thrones" teasers are just some of the contents of HBO's new video. Other exciting shows to look forward to from the cable network includes "Veep," which features "House's" Hugh Laurie in a cameo role, the new season of "Girls," as well as a plethora of new shows that will air next year.

"Game of Thrones" season 5 is expected to air sometime in March 2015.
