Avid fans of "Game of Thrones" lined up and patiently waited online in early January to secure tickets for the highly awaited digitally remastered episodes of HBO's well loved TV adaptation of George R.R. Martin's novels. Their wait did not go in vain because they were the ones who had the first look at the explosive trailer for the show's fifth season.

Probably the most anticipated season trailer in history of television, the "Game of Thrones" season 5 trailer shows what fans should look forward to in the upcoming installment of HBO's hit fantasy drama series.

Here are some of the highlights of the first full-length trailer for "Game of Thrones" season 5, screened in IMAX theaters all over the U.S.

Tyrion's condition

By the end of season 4, Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) had to escape from King's Landing after killing his father Tywin (Charles Dance) and his former lover Shey (Sibel Kekilli). He first appears in the trailer looking sullied, but he later on appears sipping wine with Varys (Conleth Hill). They talk about bringing to power the rightful heir to the Iron Throne, which Varys describes as "a ruler loved by all with a powerful army and the right family name."

When Tyrion tells Varys that they will have a hard time "finding him," Varys only tells Tyrion, "Who said anything about him?"

Does this mean that the two are planning to bring Daenerys (Emilia Clark) to lead the Seven Kingdoms?

Sansa's whereabouts

Another King's Landing exile Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), Tyrion's wife, is also seen in the trailer. She is with Petyr Baelish (Aidan Gillen) at the Eyrie. It looks like Sansa and Littlefinger are starting to be more intimate with each other when they are seen embracing and looking more comfortable with each other's touch.

Peaceful wedding

Just like the past seasons of "Game of Thrones," a wedding will be featured in season five. But this time, the wedding seems to be blood-less, since nobody is expected to die like in the legendary Red Wedding and the Purple Wedding in seasons 3 and 4.

"Game of Thrones" season 5 will premiere on April 12 on HBO.
