'Game of Thrones' season 6 spoilers: New images reveal major events

A new set of images has been released to tease viewers about what they should look forward to in "Game of Thrones" season 6.

The images seem to confirm who among the characters were saved and who died in the previous season. However, the return of one of the fan-favorite characters in the series is not shown in the latest teaser for the upcoming season of the TV adaptation of George R.R. Martin's bestselling "A Song of Ice and Fire" novels.

In one of the recently released photos, Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and King Tommen Baratheon (Dean-Charles Chapman) are mourning the death of Princess Myrcella (Nell Tiger Free), who died after the bloody battle in Dorne.

Another photo shows a tender moment between Jaime and his sister/lover Cersei (Lena Headey). The two seem to be in a deep conversation. In season 5, Cersei ordered Jaime to go to Dorne to get Myrcella back to King's Landing because she believed that their daughter's life was in danger in the hands the bastard daughters of Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal) known as the Sand Snakes. But while Jaime managed to sneak out his daughter from Dorne, she still died on the way to King's Landing due to the poison from Oberyn's paramour Ellaria (Indira Varma).

Several photos from the North and the Wall were also released. However, none of them show proof that Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is still alive. The photos only reveal that Melisandre (Carice van Houten) arrived at the Wall to face the Night's Watch. Other photos showed Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Theon Greyjoy/Reek (Alfie Allen) talking in the snow.

The situation in Meereen is also teased, showing Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Varys (Conleth Hill), and Daenerys's (Emilia Clarke) loyal companions Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) and Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson). They appear to be waiting for news regarding Daenerys. Meanwhile, the Mother of the Dragons is seen as a captive of a Dothraki tribe in another picture.

Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), Samwell Tarly (John Bradley), Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) and Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) are also seen in pictures posted on the show's official Facebook page.

"Game of Thrones" season 6 will premiere on HBO on April 24.
