Rumor has it that an extremely important event will take place in "Game of Thrones" season 6. It is being said that the so-called Grand Northern Conspiracy will finally see the light of day in the series.
For the uninitiated, The Grand Northern Conspiracy took shape in the third book in the George R.R. Martin series "A Song of Ice and Fire," which is where "Game of Thrones" is based on. It is one of the defining historical moments in the saga.
It claims that the leaders of the North who managed to break away from the Red Wedding and whose loyalty remain to the Starks are putting their heads together in an attempt to remove the Boltons from the seat of power and declare Jon Snow king.
Ned Stark, who was under the impression that three of his children are dead and Sansa was married to Tyrion when he was still alive, figured that he would have to go with Jon Snow as his heir to the throne.
It remains to be seen whether or not Jon Snow really was Ned's choice. The only man who knows Ned's elected successor is believed to be a Stark loyalist named Wyman, who will reportedly appear in "Game of Thrones" season 6.
In the book, Wyman is remembered for his line "the north remembers, and the mummer's farce is almost done," which implies their false loyalty to House Bolton. The first part of this line was recently told to Sansa by a young woman eventually killed by Ramsay for vowing to help her.
This could mean that the show is setting up the season for Jon Snow's royal return. Another hint that The Grand Northern Conspiracy will be realized is the bunch of photos from "Game of Thrones" season 6 where Kit Harington aka Jon Snow is seen wearing a Stark armor.
It looks like Jon Snow will not only rise from the dead, but rise to power as well in the new season. Whatever the series has in store, stars Emilia Clarke aka Dany and Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa, are one in saying that it will be the "biggest" season yet.
"Game of Thrones" season 6 premieres April 24 on HBO.
