'Game of Thrones' photo leaks reveal Jon Snow to be reunited with close friend

After being reunited with his sisters Arya (Maisie Williams) and Sansa (Sophie Turner) in the last season of "Game of Thrones" ("GOT"), it seems that another momentous reunion is on the way for Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and one of his most beloved companions in the upcoming eighth season of GOT.

While season 7 left a lasting image of the White Walkers and the Ice Dragon Viserion breaking down The Wall, one of the first pictures that have surfaced are that of Harington filming on location and walking along a fortress with his good friend and brother from the Night's Watch, Samwell Tarly (John Bradley).

The photos were said to have been taken while the actors were on location in Dubrovnik, Croatia. This setting is often used for the Westeros capital, King's Landing. This is a divergence from the previous locations where both Sam and Jon were last seen. Sam was at Winterfell and revealed Jon's true lineage to his brother Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), while the former King of the North was on a boat with his new Queen (and apparently, aunt) Daenerys Stormborn (Emilia Clarke).

It seems that in season 8, the reunion will take them to the home base of Queen Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), but for still unknown reasons. However, since recent photos have also surfaced where Jon can be seen together with Cersei, Digital Spy surmises that it could be to follow-up on Jon's request for more soldiers from the capital to aid them in battling with the Night King and his army of the dead.

Actor Peter Dinklage who plays Tyrion Lannister has told Variety that they are halfway into filming the upcoming season and that he personally believes that this is the perfect time to wrap up the show. "Storywise, not just for all our lives. It's the perfect time to end it. Sometimes shows stay on a little too long," said Dinklage.

"Game of Thrones" season 8 is set to air again in 2019 exclusively on HBO.
