There will be more complications that will be discovered in the second to the last episode before the summer finale of "The Fosters" season 3.
In episode 8 titled "Daughters," Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Brandon (David Lambert) once again found themselves giving in to their romantic feelings despite the rules of the foster care system that strictly prevents them from being romantically involved with each other. Meanwhile, the marital problems between their moms Stef (Teri Polo) and Lena (Sherru Saum) began to intensify because of Stef's suspicions that Lena is having an affair with Monty (Annika Marks).
Lena actually kissed Monty during the season 2 finale but he hid the truth from his wife. It seems, however, that the secret will not stay hidden for long.
In episode 9 titled "Idyllwild," more revelations could cause bigger problems for the members of the Foster household. The synopsis for the episode reads:
The family heads to Idyllwild for Brandon's music competition where long-held feelings are revealed and life-changing secrets are unveiled. Callie finds herself in danger of being hurt when she questions Carmen and Brooke's motives directly. Mike witnesses an unexpected connection that may support Stef's theory for finding the hit-and-run driver."
In the promo trailer for the episode, Stef confronts Lena about having an affair with Monty. It seems like the secret that Lena has been hiding for quite a while may be revealed, and it could eventually lead their marriage to a bitter end.
Meanwhile, the trailer also shows Callie and Brandon alone in a room. Callie reveals to Brandon that she is getting worried that the court will not let her adoption process with the Fosters to progress because of her past mistakes. While trying to comfort her, Brandon holds her hand and eventually kisses her. One thing leads to another, and the two once again get physically intimate even if they know that they are breaking the rules.
The ninth episode of "The Fosters" season 3 airs on Monday, Aug. 10, on ABC Family.
