Video game developer Playground Games made its name in the racing genre with its popular "Forza Horizon" titles. With their continued success, they are apparently trying out something new outside racing games. They are now working on a role-playing (RPG) action-packed game in an open-world setting.

Possibly acknowledging that they may need help for a game outside of their specialty, they have decided to team up with two other studios. This was a perfect choice, as they were able to hire people behind the most famous open-world games themselves, "Grand Theft Auto," the "Metal Gear" franchise, and "Hellblade: Senua."

The new additions to the team were not hired simultaneously, but with all of them being partnered with the same company, they may have decided that it is time for a change in their games. The first one to be part of Playground Games is chief designer Will Kennedy. According to GameZone, Kennedy worked at Rockstar North for eight years. He was responsible for developing the level and questing system for "GTA IV" and then becoming senior online and flow designer for "GTA V."

A few months ago, "Hellblade: Senua's" senior producer, Juan Fernandez di Simon was recruited. At Playground Games, he is apparently assigned as the principal combat designer.

The latest one to be hired is Sean Eyestone, who worked at Kojima Productions for ten years. He was behind favorite games such as "Star Wars Battlefront II," "Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes," and "The Phantom Pain."

The development team did not only branch off to another game genre, but they even got a new office in their hometown Leamington Spa, England, as per Wccftech. The new studio is mostly for the upcoming RPG game, while the main studio assumably will still work on possibly new "Forza Horizon" games.
