A winter-themed expansion is coming for "Forza Horizon 3," according to a press release from Microsoft.
The teaser for the first expansion of the open world racing video game was released through an update from Xbox community manager Brian Ekberg on Xbox News. This will be the first of the two expansions that will be launched for the game.
While details about the winter expansion are scarce, the teaser image showed that players will have to deal with less than ideal driving conditions. Based on the image, players will have to navigate their way on snow-covered roads all throughout the race.
The title for the upcoming "Forza Horizon 3" expansion remains under wraps, and its possible release date is still unrevealed. But the expansion is expected to be released before the end of 2016.
Also, the teaser image only showed the wheel of the Lamborghini Centenario that is covered in snow. But more cars are expected to be released with the upcoming expansion.
The "Forza Horizon 3" winter expansion, as well as the other one, can be purchased together through the game's DLC pass that is worth $35. But those who already purchased the game's Ultimate Edition can buy the game at a discounted price. It means that those who have the "Forza Horizon 3" Ultimate Edition can purchase the DLC pass for only $25. Although, they can only avail the discount before the end of 2016.
The upcoming expansion can also be purchased on its own, but Microsoft has yet to announce the price of the individual expansion upon release.
Meanwhile, the release of the "Forza Horizon 3" winter expansion teaser also came with the announcement of the arrival of the Alpinestars Car Pack. It includes two of the franchise's fan-favorite drifting cars, such as the 1998 Nissan Silvia K and the 1990 Mazda Savanna RX-7, as well as the Ford Falcon XR GT, the Dodge Viper ACR, the 2017 Acura NSX, the 2016 BMW M4 GTS, and the 1979 Talbot Lotus Sunbeam.
The Alpinestars Car Pack is part of the "Forza Horizon 3" Car Pass, but it can also be purchased as a single purchase for $6.99.
