"Fortnite" has had a lot of ups and downs recently with numerous bugs and server issues, but it has also added a new and highly-requested Battle Royale mode. This time, despite some of the issues present, they are adding another new limited time game mode called "Sniper Shootout," which is similar to the 50-versus-50 mode last December.

As the name of the mode already implies, it will generally just be a sniper battle. In the map, mostly sniper rifles will be the available weapons. There are still, however, items to restore health and such. This is the perfect game mode for those who love camping and testing their speed, accuracy, and stealth. There will also be revolvers, making short-range encounters more interesting, but that is if players do not get sniped down before then.

Epic Games recently made the announcement that they will be releasing it on all the platforms. This is the first time the game would be getting this kind of game mode, so players will just have to play the game to find out how it goes. It is also quite timely for this new game mode as it will easily be able to introduce the new "Fortnite" map revamp which was rolled out just recently.

If "Sniper Shootout" gets a good feedback from its players, it may likely be part of the regular rotation of limited-time game modes, again, like the 50-versus-50 mode which a lot of people had a lot of fun with.

The new game mode follows the news of the game experiencing an extended downtime. According to Epic Games, they had a problem with the servers while installing the latest patch. The subsequent patch, nevertheless, was able to make fixes and address multiple bugs.

"Sniper Shootout" has been made available today. It will run until Feb. 2, which means players only have a few days before the mode will be removed unless Epic Games chooses otherwise.
