Scott Cawthon's highly popular video game "Five Nights at Freddy's" is being adapted for the big screen, and fans are already looking forward to getting more information about the film from director Gil Kenan.

Details about the upcoming film have been few since Warner Bros. announced in July 2015 that the film adaptation of the indie survival horror point-and-click game will be directed by Kenan. Prior to this, the names of the executive producers for the film were announced, namely Vertigo Entertainment's Roy Lee and KatzSmith Productions' Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg.

The producers said they were excited to bring the popular PC, Android and iOS game to the big screen.

"We're looking forward to working with Scott to make an insane, terrifying and weirdly adorable movie," said Grahame-Smith.

Cawthon, meanwhile, shared that "the story really lends itself to being a movie, and it taps into a largely unexplored niche of horror that a lot of people will be able to relate to."

The plot of the film remains under wraps. However, speculations claim that the film will delve into the story of the game's lead character Freddy, as well as the other animatronic characters.

Meanwhile, Kenan often treats fans of the "Five Nights at Freddy's" video game to various posts on social media.

On Twitter, the movie director often shares snapshots of the props that seem to be included in the film. One of the most recent photo is of a mask that appears to be under development to become an animatronic character.

The director also posted a photo of him with a life-sized teddy bear, which fans believe has something to do with the "Five Nights at Freddy's" film. However, Kenan did not confirm or deny the speculations.
