While it is true that Fitbit only managed to get a lukewarm reception from the public when it launched its first-ever smartwatch, the Blaze, last year, the company is not just throwing the towel yet as it is said that it will release another smartwatch later this year.

According to unconfirmed reports, Fitbit is currently developing its next smartwatch that is said to deliver big improvements on the Blaze as it will come with high-end sensors, a brand-new software, and apps that can do more as compared to those that came with its first smartwatch.

Yahoo Finance reports that sources have claimed that the design of the upcoming Fitbit smartwatch will come with a color display similar to that of the Apple Watch 2. It is also said to come with a built-in GPS chip, heart-rate monitoring, the ability to make touch-less payments, and store and play music from Pandora (P).

Its battery is also rumored to be longer lasting as one charge can last up to four days.

As far as the design is concerned, it is alleged that the upcoming Fitbit smartwatch will be made of aluminum and come with a watch band that is interchangeable.

It is also alleged to be paired with another Fitbit product once it is launched, a Bluetooth headphone.

Developing the yet-to-be-announced product, though, does not go without glitches. It has been learned that Fitbit has encountered some problems in its attempt to make the upcoming wearable device waterproof. Hence, it is unclear whether the upcoming Fitbit smartwatch will be waterproof or not once it arrives.

It is said, though, that whether the waterproof issues of the device will be properly addressed or not, Fitbit is sure to release the product later this fall and risk its chances of making a mark in the smartwatch market as, if it does not come waterproof, it is likely to be deemed as an inferior product compared to that of Apple.
