First look at 'Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery'

The year 2018 is a great year for "Harry Potter" fans all over the globe. Mobile users in particular, will be getting two new "Harry Potter" games – "Harry Potter: Mystery at Hogwarts" by developers Jam City, and the much-awaited "Harry Potter: Wizard's Unite," an upcoming augmented reality game by Niantic – the developers of the hit mobile game "Pokémon Go."

A first look at "Harry Potter: Mystery at Hogwarts" was uploaded to Warner Bros. Game's YouTube channel on Jan. 18. A little over a minute long, the first glimpse of the upcoming game, showcased beloved characters from the novels and movies. Players will be able to learn spells from renowned Hogwarts Professors, alongside battling and befriending many of franchise's characters.

No specific release date has been given as of yet, but the game will be coming to both the Apple app store and the Google Play store. Aside from that, players can pre-register and learn more about the game on their official website. According to Jam City, "Harry Potter: Mystery at Hogwarts" is the first game in the "Harry Potter" franchise where players can create their own characters.

"Harry Potter: Mystery at Hogwarts" aside, fans also have Niantic's upcoming game to look forward to.

On Nov. 8, 2017, Niantic, the developers of the hit augmented reality Pokémon Game "Pokémon Go" announced their next big project – an augmented reality "Harry Potter Game."

Titled "Harry Potter: Wizard's Unite," the game has yet to release a trailer. However, a website with more information is already available for curious fans of the franchise. A collaboration between Niantic and the Warner Bros, "Harry Potter: Wizard's Unite" aims to be somewhat similar to Pokémon Go, but with a "Harry Potter" twist and a lot more magic. Fans will explore real neighborhoods and places, and make use of the game's augmented reality mechanics to cast powerful spells and fight evil enemies.

Aside from that, players will be able to cast iconic spells and team up with other wizards (players) in the area. According to Niantic, they will be attempting to take the technology used in Pokémon Go and take it to the next level. The specifics of the game's new mechanics have yet to be announced.
