A slight deviation from its original plot filled with convoluted family drama, MTV's "Finding Carter" will finally remind viewers that the show is about growing teens.

Carter's (Kathryn Prescott) life has been extra complicated from the start, but it does not mean that she will have to dwell on her family drama all the time. This is why the series will shift its perspective to the typical teen angst to give it a more realistic vibe for season 2B.

Series executive producer Emily Whitesell recently divulged in her The Hollywood Reporter interview some of the most intriguing changes that will happen in "Finding Carter" season 2.

According to Whitesell, the teens are already in the most interesting years of existence, which makes them a delight to watch. "Teens are very interested in that part of their own lives. That's intriguing to them, watching these characters struggle with the same issues they struggle with in real life," the executive producer shared.

In "Finding Carter" season 2B episode 14 titled "Anywhere But Here," Carter will be dealing with a new problem that is not related to her kidnapping.

The plot spoiler reads: "Carter struggles to keep up with school and her secret job at the bar; Taylor (Anna Jacoby-Heron) and Max (Alex Saxon) try to celebrate an anniversary; Crash (Caleb Ruminer) gets a new assignment."

Early reports claim that Carter's disdain for academics will lead her to drop school and live a new life away from the drama. She finally got the fresh start that she was looking for when she got hired as a bartender during the previous episode, but it seems like all the lying that they did last week is slowly creeping up on her.

But still, Carter's never-ending struggle with her parents Elizabeth (Cynthia Watros) and David (Alexis Denisof) and her abductor who turned out to be her biological mother Lori remains in the next episodes of the series.

"The family dynamics will still play into it, but this show is really about the teens and their lives, colored by what they've all been through and how the show started," Whitesell revealed.

"Finding Carter" season 2B episode 14 will air on Tuesday, Oct. 13, on MTV.

Next week on Finding Carter, Gabe's wild behavior puts Carter's new job in jeopardy.
