'Finding Carter' season 2 spoilers: Carter plans to connect with Ben in new episodes

Can Carter handle any more drama in the next episodes of Finding Carter season 2? MTV

As if Carter's family situation is not complicated enough, another addition to the Wilson drama was introduced in the summer finale of MTV's "Finding Carter" season 2.

Right before the first half of the season ended, the Wilsons attempted to permanently put Lori behind bars for abducting Carter (Kathryn Prescott) as a child, and to take away the opportunity for her to get legal custody over Carter and her twin sister Taylor (Anna Jacoby-Heron).

Although Prescott earlier revealed that it will be hard for her character to face Lori again after everything that happened between them, things will be more difficult for the teenager and her family now that Lori's long-lost biological son Ben (Ben Winchell) arrives and tells everyone that David (Alexis Denisof) is his father. Fans of the show did not see this coming, and they all want to know the implication of Ben's sudden appearance in Carter's life.

In an interview with TV Line, series producer Emily Whitesell talked about how Carter will deal with Ben when "Finding Carter" season 2 resumes.

When asked if Ben and Lori already know about his roots, and why only tell everyone that David is his father after all this time, the series producer said: "These questions will be answered very early on in the next sequence of episodes. But he didn't know. He was subpoenad. They'd been looking for him for a very long time, and Lori will claim she'd been looking for him for years, so he'll have his own resentments about everything."

Whitesell also mentioned that Elizabeth (Cynthia Watros) will have to deal with the new information about David, especially since the couple had been through a lot lately. Will this be the final blow for their marriage? Carter, on the other hand, will be more welcoming to Ben.

"She's going to see Ben and recognize that he's been through the same things that she has, mainly Lori. I don't think she'd be silly enough to throw that away. I think it'll be interesting to see the similarities between them," Prescott told Zip2it

MTV has yet to reveal when the next 12 episodes of "Finding Carter" season 2 will air, but it is speculated to come out in October.
