It looks like players will soon be able to experience Noctis' story on the go as "Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition" arrives to iOS and Android next week.
According to the game's official listing on Apple's App Store, "Pocket Edition" is expected to come out on Feb. 9. While no date is present on the Google Play Store, players should expect both versions to come out at the same time or at least within the same time window.
"Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition" is a condensed, mobile port of "Final Fantasy XV" that focuses on the story of Noctis and his friends trying to reclaim his kingdom. Unlike the original game, "Pocket Edition" will have a simplified art style, something more akin to an anime chibi-like design and will have an altered control scheme that is more suited for the mobile platform.
The game will be divided into ten individual chapters that will all be available at launch, with the first chapter being free for anyone to try. Those who want to play the rest of the game will have the option to purchase the other chapters individually or buy them all in one bundle.
Chapters two and three will cost $0.99 each while the other seven chapters will cost $3.99 each. All nine chapters can be purchased in a bundle worth $19.99.
iOS users will need to have iOS 11.1 or later installed on their device and will require at least 5 GB of free space for the standard version, while the higher resolution version will need 8 GB. For Android devices, players need to have Android 5.0 or higher installed and will need at least a 1.5 GHz processor and 2 GB of random access memory (RAM).
"Pocket Edition" was first announced in August 2017 at Gamescom and was originally scheduled for release that year but got delayed to a later date. Players can pre-order the game now to get ready for next week's launch.
