Square Enix has not mentioned additional information in the past few months about the ongoing development of the much-awaited "Final Fantasy 7" remake. Nevertheless, the game director himself, Tetsuya Nomura, has teased some interesting bits about the characters' design. Specifically, Nomura has revealed that the game title's lead hero, Cloud, will undergo a major redesign, although this will ultimately lead to the character resembling his original look.

The latest scoop about Cloud's design change in "Final Fantasy 7" remake came from Nomura when he attended the 30th-anniversary exhibit of the "Final Fantasy" series. He previewed some images of Cloud's new look during the event, much to the fans' excitement. Unfortunately, the participants were not able to capture photos of the character preview, thus no copies of Cloud's new look were posted online. Still, the revised character design is described to be more natural and younger.

To note, the recent anime and film adaptations of "Final Fantasy 7" video game had a different take on Cloud's personality and appearance. For one, the character was turned to be a jock with somewhat ragged style, which is a stark contrast to Cloud in the game. Originally, the "FF7" lead is depicted with a dorky personality and has a less mature look. Nomura revealed that the fans are likely to see a younger and fun Cloud in the "Final Fantasy 7" remake.

In other news, there is an increasing likelihood that the "Final Fantasy 7" remake will be ported to the Nintendo Switch console upon its release. Square Enix has yet to set an exact release date for the upcoming remake title, although Square Enix is already giving out hints of the game's Switch version. As of now, many of the Square Enix's game collections have already been ported to the hybrid console, just in time for the Nintendo Switch's first-anniversary celebration.

Some of the Square Enix titles already in the Nintendo Switch are  "Lost Sphear" and "Dragon Quest Builders," with a lot of other titles scheduled to be ported to Switch in the coming months. It is likely that the "Final Fantasy 7" remake will eventually find its way to the Nintendo Switch.
